Meet baby Oliver! He is a sweet little premmie and at 3 weeks old is just 2.2. The Bambam is a fitted cloth nappy, however, because it uses a Snappi as a closure (instead of snaps) you can get a really versatile fit from very small to much larger and older babies.

Transcript: Bambam on 2.2 kilo baby.

Hi, I’m Vicki from Bubblebubs, and today, I’m with baby Oliver. Oliver is a little preemie bub, and he’s about three weeks old now, and about 2.2 kilos. So what I’m going to do is show you how the Bambams fit on smaller babies.

The Bambam is a fitted nappy which comes in two pieces, so you have you little tri-fold there. Just depending on how much bubby’s wetting at this age is dependent on whether you’re actually going to need the insert, but I’m going to pop it in for the sake of this.

So what I’m going to do is lift him up, and you can see we have got a lot of nappy here. So, what we’re going to do is we’re going to bring this up and we’re going to have to fold the insert down like this. We’re going to do the same with the outer part, so we’re going to … I’m actually stretching the elastic. There’s so much fabric here you can’t see.

I’m giving the legs a really good stretch, because that’s what’s going to do the containing, and what we’re going to do is we’re going to fold it over a couple of times like that, and bring the wings around like this. And to be honest, he’s probably wetting such a little amount that you may not need a cover to go over it.

Our newborn covers, way too big for a prem because they’re designed to go over flats and one-sized nappies, so there’s a definitely other brand out there that are going to suit the purpose a bit more. But as you can see, the Bambam, you can get that nappy on a smaller baby easily with or without the inserts. I’m just going to pick lovely Oliver up, and you can see a nice fit.

So the most important thing with any nappy is making sure that you get a really good fit around the waist and around the legs to do all of the containing.
