What is a prefold and how is it different to a flat?

What is a prefold and how is it different to a flat? This common question is answered by Vicki who describes the differences between the two. While both are traditional nappies, the prefold is smaller and has more absorbency through the middle making it easier to fold than a traditional flat nappy.

- Hi everyone, I'm Vicki from Bubblebubs and today I wanted to answer one of those FAQs, which is, "What is a prefold and how is it different to a flat?" So I flat nappy, as we all know, traditional, just single piece of fabric, but a prefold, where it's different is it'll have more absorbency within the middle of the nappy than it does on the sides. So on this particular one, it's got two layers on each side and four layers in the middle. So a little bit easier to fold than a flat, so generally, this is one of my favourite folds, which is an angel wing fold. Literally, that is how you fold the nappy. Pop bubby in and you can customise the fit like that, go down like that, you can use a Snappi or Boingos or anything that you like, and then pop a waterproof cover over the top. So that is a prefold.
