After being blown away by the support and love from the results of the Australian Nappy Association's Cloth Nappy Awards we've decided to do a blog series focussing on each of our award-winning products. To kick off, we're going to feature our Bamboo Delights. Last year our Bamboo Delights underwent an update and I wanted to tell you a bit about that as well as giving your some more insight into this fabulous modern cloth nappy.
Bamboo Delights are our fitted one-size-fits-most nappy. They are made of luxuriously soft bamboo velour and come in a variety of bright colours. That means the whole thing is absorbent all the way around and it's used with a cover to make it waterproof. A two-step system like this is fantastic because it’s bullet-proof against leaks and flexible when it comes to absorption, check out this video about how to boost your Bamboo Delights. Our Bamboo Delights are a one-size-fits-most (OSFM) nappy so they fit roughly from birth to toilet training, depending on the size of your child. We recommend them for 3-15kg.
The version two update included a new colour range!
We have also increased the absorbency of the nappy by adding bamboo fleece to the insert, so it now consists of two layers of bamboo fleece and 1 layer of bamboo velour. This also meant we could do away with the booster with makes putting your nappy together even simpler. The trifold is now stitched to help keep its shape as well. All this will prevent the warping that sometimes happened with the previous version. Something which, although it never affected functionality, was an aesthetic issue with the old-style Bamboo Delights.
Bamboo Delights have a hidden layer of organic cotton flannel snuggled between 2 layers of super soft bamboo velour. We've used woven cotton flannel because the weave gives it more stability. The bamboo velour is quite soft and floppy and doesn’t have a lot of integrity to its shape. So the woven flannel gives it stability and integrity to keep its shape. Which also helps make snaps more secure. All the while increasing the absorbency.
Overall the Version 2 Bamboo Delights are more absorbent and more durable to make a nappy that just works and does so for years to come.
